CSz INDIANAPOLIS WELCOMES NEW ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

CSz Indianapolis-Home of ComedySportz, the longest running show in Indianapolis, is welcoming a new Artistic Director, Todd Kenworthy. He assumes the role as of Summer 2019.

Kenworthy has been a performer with CSz Indianapolis and ComedySportz for 13 years and is entering his third year as a co-owner of the business. For over a decade, Kenworthy has been a stalwart of the Indianapolis theatre community. In addition to his work with CSz Indianapolis and ComedySportz, he has regularly performed and collaborated with $3 Bill, Defiance Comedy, and Red Curb Improv in Avon.

He looks forward to leading a pillar of the Indianapolis theatre and comedy communities. “I’m excited for the opportunity to work in this new position,” said Kenworthy, “and I have some big shoes to fill. Everything I’ve learned over the past 13 years is from Ed Trout.”

After upholding the office of Artistic Director for over two decades, Edward Trout is refocusing his attentions and efforts with CSz Indianapolis as the company’s first Director of Education and Applied Improvisation. When asked about the new position, Trout stated, “As a company, we are always glad to innovate. In recent years, there has been a trend in the market of improvisation, moving strongly towards corporate training. We’re glad to embrace that and help that part of CSz Indianapolis grow.”

In addition to his position as a founding member and owner of CSz Indianapolis, Trout is a member of the Applied Improvisation Network (AIN). AIN is a worldwide organization dedicated to the use of improvisational techniques in corporate trainings. According to the AIN website, “In an atmosphere of positive purpose, everyone is encouraged to contribute.” CSz Indianapolis has offered corporate trainings in the past through their Group Unity Training Seminars. The work continues with Trout at the helm of the revamped Applied Improvisation program.

Kenworthy and Trout both look forward to a continued future filled with creativity and collaboration.
